Showing up with any of these issues can make for a miserable couple of days! The pain and embarrassment of a bad race can really cancel out the fun of doing it in the first place.
And even if I don’t have an all-out bad ride, I don’t want to “pussy-foot” around the mountain all day for two days, not being able to give it 100% of my best effort.
I mean, I’m not sure about you, but I want to have fun! And who are we kidding…I’d also REALLY love to win!
I want to show up knowing that my training, conditioning, nutrition, rest, warm up and recovery plan is going to be superior to everyone else’s.
Shoot, if I don’t win, then my assumption is that I got beat by someone who is just straight up better skilled than me, had a better plan of attack that they perfectly executed, or they just got lucky…NOT because I didn’t have the strength, endurance or power to give it my “A” game and run a clean, controlled ride.
