I hope you’re NOT DOING this type of training!

Hope your day is going well.

I thought I’d reach out today just to quickly talk about training.

If I look around social media these days, I see a ton of riders talking about how they think  they can improve simply by riding.

Yes, I’d love to be able to say that is the case and we’d all just “ride ourselves into peak performance,” but it just doesn’t work that way.

Since 2000 I’ve been working with some of the best professional athletes in the world, and I’ve been blessed enough to somehow be on the “forefront” of the “training genesis and evoution” of coaching for mountain biking, snowboarding, motocross and the PGA Tour.

And since 2014, when I started Enduro MTB Training, I’m stoked to be at the forefront of training for enduro and mtb training and to be working with great riders and racers around the world!

I mean, that’s why I exist, to put out the message of helping change riders view of getting themselves optimally prepared to legitimally take their performance to the next level and for “old” guys like myself, be able to ride hard as long we we can!

Look, my message will always be, you must train in the gym to create enough stress in the body so the body is forced to adapt, and with adaptation come all the benefits in the form of:

  1. Increase muscle strength
  2. Increase tendon strength
  3. Better flexibilty
  4. Better joint mobility
  5. Proprioception training
  6. Better sustained power output
  7. Creation of “strength endurance” which is the ability to ride for long periods of time, AND have the power output required to put in hard efforts like in enduro racing.
  8. Better fuel management
  9. Optimal body positioning on the bike without fatiguing out
  10. Being able to then use all of the above benefits to explode your skill set on your bike!

Come on, I challenge you to to make this season different.

I don’t care if you use one of our products or not, I just want you to experience how training in the gym in the off-season can radically change your riding for 2016!

So whether you make up your own plan, buy a plan or pick up one of our training plans, I encourage you to try the experiment and watch what happens to your mountain biking experience this season!

Oh, and if you do buy somewhere else or make up your own, be sure it’s a gym training plan and not just what I call a, “cardio plan,” that only tells you what and how to ride… there’s a BIG difference between the two!

If you have questions, shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to help how I can.

Move well, Ride Fast.
